GPN Partnership Committee

Within GPN network, Saybus has earned recognition from all of the other members, and gained a special place in the decision-making process.

What is the GPN Partnership Committee?

The arrival of Saybus in the Committee

As a way to celebrate the arrival of Saybus in the GPN Partnership Committee, the most recent meeting took place in Lyon last September at Saybus’ premises.

Since its coming into the network last March, and for the first time on September 25th, Saybus took part of the committee, which consists of six members.

The first and one of its kind, First Travel Solution (FTS), is one of the affiliate partners of GPN. FTS specializes in developing solutions for Business and Leisure travel (by motorcoach, train, plane…). FTS is a subsidiary of First Group, dedicated to ground passenger transport.

The other five members are all coach operators from GPN:

Following the Committee meeting, all of its member had a wonderful time attending the company’s launch evening of its new trade brand.

Commitee’s challenges

Partnership Committee is aimed to increase the network’s visibility amongst the passenger transport industry. One of the main issue is to bring together as many partners as possible, such as vehicle and equipment manufacturers. These partnerships enhance, promote and foster interactions between the market players, in order to benefit to both industrials and coach operators.

Today, GPN includes different types of partners: first and foremost vehicle manufacturers, such as Scania, VDL Bus & Coach or even Van Hool.
The network also includes equipment manufacturers of several domains, from the tire industry with Bridgestone, to bike trailers with Bikeliner, or even fire protection systems with Dafo. Another relevant example of such partnerships is Allison Automatics, the world largest manufacturer of automatic gearboxes for professional vehicles.

GPN pays a particular attention to sustainable development and environmentally friendly industries, such as SolarBus, which specializes in installing solar panels on the roof of buses.

The Committee in the core work of GPN

GPN at Busworld

Saybus was in Louvin, Belgium, from October 17th to 20th 2019, to attend the six-monthly General Meeting of Global Passenger Network (GPN).

It was for Saybus the opportunity to introduce its new trade brand to an assembly of 40 countries represented by over 60 professionals. The GPN members congratulated Saybus on its accomplishments and claimed the success of Reunir model.

Throughout these two days of meetings, the Saybus team, represented by Alexandre DELVALLEZ and Alissia BEGAG, as well as their international colleagues, got a chance to visit the amenities of GPN partner Van Hool, from the premises to the production chain of the coaches.

On purpose, the General meeting took place in parallel of the Busworld exhibition, which is also a partner of GPN. This trade show happens every two years and highlights the new products and up-and-coming trends of the industry of coach travel.

The upcoming General meetings

In order to consolidate Saybus’ position amongst the network, Saybus carried the project of organizing the second General Meeting of 2020 in its hometown next November.
This meeting will be oriented towards innovation, digitalization, clean energy and sustainable equipment. Last but not least, the emphasis will be placed on the promotion of our profession, particularly of our driving staff.

GPN works on daily basis on the development of coach transport, including forging strong links between coach operators and partners within the sector. Saybus entirely shares this vision of a collaborative work, and wills to promote transport by coach within its territory as well as internationally.
Through the meetings and discussions held throughout the year by GPN, in-dephts work is carried out on the sector issues. The committees are intended to set up short, middle and long-term projects, for which every actor brings up its vision and ideas.
