Réunir members talk about the Olympics

The JO series continues! ✨

This week, focus on three members present in Lille during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games: Rodolphe de Bretagne, director of Voyages Inglard, accompanied by his son Paul de Bretagne, field regulator at Voyages Inglard, and Xavier Plantureux, operations agent at Catteau Voyages

Voyages Inglard, a key player in Lille during the Olympic Games

As a key member of the Lille team, Voyages Inglard played a key coordinating role between the Saybus team, with Jessica Tchissambot, and the other members who were on site during the event: Les Autocars Douaisiens, Not’Car, Place Mobilité, Mariot Gamelin and Catteau Voyages.

Rodolphe de Bretagne looks back at the announcement of the project:

We learned that we were going to be working on the Olympic Games at the Avenir Réunir Congress in Corsica in 2023. Winning this tender was quite a challenge, and everyone was very happy about the adventure that was about to begin.

Xavier Plantureux, Operations Manager at Catteau Voyages, tells us about this unique set-up: ‘From March 2024, we knew that we would be involved in transport for the Olympic Games. […] We trained our drivers in the use of the Hubup application, as well as teaching them some basic communication skills in English’.

A logistical challenge

The challenge was colossal: to orchestrate meticulous logistics to transport athletes, journalists and volunteers between the hotels and the Pierre Mauroy stadium, the venue for the basketball and handball competitions.

The challenge? Adapting to new landmarks, new locations and constantly adjusted schedules, with no fewer than 60 vehicles mobilised daily by Voyages Inglard and Catteau Voyages.

The gradual implementation, with a first week of running-in, enabled the teams to adapt quickly and manage the flows efficiently.

An unforgettable human adventure

On the ground, team spirit and solidarity between members played a crucial role. Paul Le Roux de Bretagne, field dispatcher, shares his day-to-day experience: ‘Every day, I received a precise schedule of the lines, and I spoke with the drivers to make sure that everything was running smoothly.

This collaborative organisation, the fruit of work between Saybus and Réunir members, made it possible to meet this ambitious challenge. Rodolphe de Bretagne points out: ‘We all know each other very well, so relations are very good and communication is easy.

The Olympic Games, with their worldwide media coverage, also represent a valuable opportunity for the companies involved. Xavier Plantureux describes it as ‘unparalleled visibility’.

For the drivers and their teams, taking part in this event was an outstanding experience. Paul concludes:

What I’m experiencing, I know I’ll remember for the rest of my life. It’s crazy to think that I was able to help the Olympic Games run smoothly with Saybus.

A big well done to these passionate teams who, thanks to their commitment and professionalism, helped write a memorable page in the Olympic Games! 🏅👏
