Every summer, the Saybus teams pull out all the stops to provide transport for holidaymakers from OK Vacances Adaptées, Billy – La grande évasion and EEVA Club Evasion taking part in their adapted holidays.
Once again this year, the operation presented a real logistical challenge: transporting holidaymakers from their homes to the hubs in Villefranche-sur-Saône and Mâcon, before they set off for their various holiday destinations in France and across Europe.
A major operation in figures
This year’s operation mobilised significant human and material resources:
- Nearly 4,000 holidaymakers transported, accompanied by 740 supervisors
- Over 150 coaches deployed
- Over 200 drivers mobilised to cover the various routes
Behind these figures lie several months of preparation and coordination: setting up transport routes, organising passenger flows, selecting and mobilising coach operators who are members of Réunir, preparing timetables… Every stage is essential to ensure the operation runs smoothly!
Meticulously planned logistics on the ground
On the day of departure, Saybus teams were on hand at the Villefranche-sur-Saône and Mâcon terminals to manage the arrival and departure of coaches. The aim was to coordinate the various vehicles, support the teams, ensure a smooth flow of traffic, and ensure that timetables and safety instructions were adhered to.
This kind of organisation demands rigour, responsiveness and the ability to adapt, particularly in the face of the many unforeseen circumstances inherent in an operation of this scale.
Two weeks later, on Saturday 15 August, the teams gathered once again at the terminals to organise the return journey for holidaymakers. This further mobilisation brought the terminal season to a close, with the same high standards of coordination and service quality.
A collective success
This operation is, above all, the result of a collective effort. Well done to the Saybus teams who managed the entire operation with great diligence, as well as to the Trans-Alpes staff who came to support the teams on site.
A big thank you to the Réunir members for their professionalism, punctuality and commitment throughout the operation.
Finally, thank you to OK Vacances Adaptées, Billy – La grande évasion and EEVA Club Evasion for their continued trust, year after year.
Another successful season of transport operations has come to a close, once again demonstrating the ability of Saybus and the Réunir Association Group to coordinate complex, large-scale transport operations.
